The Teen Initiative

The Teen Initiative organizes Boston’s leading youth development organizations into neighborhood-based networks.  These networks are more developmentally responsive, programmatically diverse, and scalable than any single program. They are based on deep social, technological, and strategic ties that allow youth development organizations and caring adults throughout a neighborhood to support local youth with long term opportunities, services, and care.

These organizational networks also serve as nodes for connecting community organizations to other systems serving youth, training youth workers, and leveraging financial and political resources.

Engaging Youth Where they Live

Now in its 2nd year, the Teen Initiative is helping transform disparate programs and services into deeply connected networks of caring adults focused on providing youth with transformative programs and services that are engaging, diverse, developmentally appropriate, high quality, and long-term.
