Position Description

The Youth Service Providers Network (YSPN) is a program of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston in partnership with the Boston Police Department. YSPN’s mission is to respond to at-risk youth and their families who are referred by police officers. Using YSPN's Three-Tier Model, YSPN social workers develop and provide appropriate intervention and treatment strategies including referral and follow-up to available community based service provider(s).


Supervisory Responsibilities include:

Provide weekly individual supervision to district based social workers (DBSW).
Supervise all 1st time home-visits & assessments with supervisees, DBSW.
Triage all new client referrals with supervisees.
Oversee & monitor all ongoing cases & treatment plans of supervisees.
Provide immediate consultation & support to supervisees’ around client & case crises.
Facilitate higher level advocacy with the supervisors & managers of other systems.
Monitor documentation of cases via database reports & supervisors’ checklist.
Review and revise supervisees’ monthly reports for the district police Captain.
Provide coverage for other DBSW’s as needed.
Maintain own caseload.
Provide ongoing training, supervision and feedback to all supervisees.
Conduct annual Performance Evaluation with each supervisee.
Review supervisee’s client files on a monthly basis.


Responsibilities with regard to the YSPN:

Function as a liaison between program, police, boys and girls clubs, and district social workers.
Develop and maintain relationships with community-based service providers and other public/private providers such as the Department of Social Services, Department of Youth Services, churches, schools, courts, etc.
Senior Team/Administrative meetings with Clinical Director and Executive Director.
Assist with screening and interviewing of social work candidates. Implement orientation and training for new hires.
Facilitate community responses regarding prevention and intervention with community leaders, systems and agencies to issues of community violence l
Collaborate on developing programs across systems (e.g. drug forums, workshops, groups, Young Leaders, CISM responses).
Perform other duties as needed and directed.


Direct Practice responsibilities include:

Home visits, intakes and assessments, referrals, advocacy, clinical case management, crisis intervention and linkage to community based services.
Individual and family counseling
Set up and lead case conferences for clients with families and providers
Develop and maintain relationships with community-based service providers and other public/private providers such as the Department of Social Services, Department of Youth Services, churches, schools, courts, etc.
Maintain accurate and timely case records via database A
Participate in weekly individual supervision, group supervision & staff meetings


Qualifications:

MSW required
LICSW or LICSW eligible preferred
Minimum 1-2 years of supervisory experience (clinical supervision)
2-4 years work experience with high risk urban youth and their families
Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team as well as being highly self-directed
Excellent written, verbal & organizational skills
Sense of humor and flexibility needed
Demonstrated ability to work across cultures, ethnic backgrounds and socio-economic groups


Additional Qualifications:

This is a full-time position based out of Roxbury and the surrounding communities.
