COURAGEOUS isn't like your ordinary yacht club.In the COURAGEOUS summer youth program, we strive to transform kids' lives through the sport of sailing. Our sailing school's instruction team works not only to foster students' love of sailing, adventure and the outdoors, but also to give them the values, skills and confidence that they will need to thrive in their lives beyond COURAGEOUS.
The COURAGEOUS instruction team is enthusiastic, energetic and diverse. Several grew up in the program. Some are still students and race competitively in the local high school and national collegiate circuits. Others are seasoned racers and cruisers who have sailed across the country and all over the world. Many are teachers and other professionals looking to take a breather from the real world and spend the summer outside, on the water, doing what they love.
While each brings his own experiences and reasons for coming, what unites our instructors is a shared passion for sailing and a commitment to expanding the horizons of the kids the work with.
